About
The apparel business is the second most polluting industry in the world. Through industries like fashion, humans create too much waste for our planet to handle. We are taking a reflective approach to how clothing is manufactured by using this waste to create new products. By repurposing pre-consumer cotton waste and post-consumer plastic waste, we are creating clothing in a new way that will help limit the environmental impacts of this industry. Our commitment to better practices and improved manufacturing processes ensures our clothing represents reduced waste. Each item purchased through Re.Purpose is a conscious effort to contribute to a healthier planet.
The majority of our products are made from a 50/50 blend of recycled cotton and recycled polyester. The cotton comes from leftover fabric scraps. Our cotton is made from the recovered fibers of pre-consumer cotton waste from our spinning mill. This, combined with deconstructed plastic bottles spun into polyester yarn, creates our blended recycled material. This pre-consumer and post-consumer waste is given a new life in your favorite Re.Purpose fabric.
Our sustainable efforts extend to ethical and safe working conditions. We hold our factories to the highest standards, and ensure that workers are treated fairly and compensated with a living wage. We believe happy people make the best clothes and it’s our highest priority to ensure everyone involved is treated with decency and respect. We partner with manufacturers that are pushing the boundaries of the fashion industry which results in better product and a cleaner planet.
